Hi my name is Liyah!
I am a current student at Full Sail University majoring in Media Communications. Whilst still in college I recognize that the classes I appreciate the most aren't necessarily the ones that I find the most enjoyable. Rather, it's my professors who've made these classes more enjoyable. These professors were always engaging and comprehensible when teaching the material in the classroom, and always willing to go the extra mile when I needed additional help or clarification. I try to bring this knowledge to my own tutoring approach, and do everything I can to make learning a pleasant experience. I use lesson plans in which introduce the topic in a fun and creative way, then explicitly teach the material. Afterwards, I ensure time that the student can practice the material on their own. Of course this method can be adjusted based on the individual needs of the student and the subject matter.

I have a year of tutoring experience in a Math Assistance Center at Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet High School in Indianapolis, IN. I worked directly with my peers who needed additional assistance particularly in Algebra. These were the students who needed some extra help, so I worked with them to make sure that they didn't fall behind in class. Additionally I've held one-on-one sessions with high school students online who needed help with their homework. In this session I tutored Algebra, Geometry, Biology, and English.
