Hello! My name is Juan and I have been working in the scientific field for over 10 years. I have taught at the middle school and collegiate levels different science classes.
I have a BS in Biology and an MS in Environmental Science with a focus in microbial ecology, specifically focusing on the nitrogen cycle and how microbial community dynamics fluctuate with nutrient inputs and changes in the environment. Also, for the last few years, I have worked as a chemist in several labs. I have also published several papers on microbial genomics and nutrient dynamics.
I strongly believe in order to understand scientific concepts, the teacher/tutor must be able to help the student make connections with previous knowledge and relate the subject matter to real life. When I teach science, I like to have open-ended discussions where I ask the student to critically think about the material instead of just memorizing. If this sounds like the kind of way you would like to study for a test or learn about scientific concepts, please feel free and reach out. I look forward to helping you on your academic journey.
